The 2025 set of Nigerian brides didn’t come to play. From the very beginning of the year, they consistently served looks that stunned and effortlessly raised the bar for upcoming brides. The bold, dynamic styles these brides brought to life—paired with the craftsmanship of top Nigerian designers—made their weddings some of the most talked-about celebrations of the year.

Even if you were living under a bushel, you must have heard the faintest rumours about #JP2025. The multiple elaborate celebrations between the Nigerian fashion influencer, Priscilla Ojo, and the Tanzanian musician, Juma Jux, shook the internet rigorously.

One thing Priscilla Ojo was sure to do was serve various glamorous looks for all four of her wedding celebrations. And the best part? For the traditional and white ceremonies that were held in Lagos, Nigeria, all her outfits were customised by Nigerian fashion brands.&nbsp;

Her breathtaking white wedding dress was sculpted by Veekee James, the queen of structured gowns that emphasise a woman’s curves using corsetry and intricate embellishments. Beyond bridal, Veekee James’s couture-level craftsmanship has made the label a favourite for red-carpet and high-fashion events too.&nbsp;

&nbsp;Other brands like Emagine by Bukola and Couture by Tabik created Priscilla's traditional wedding dresses that were richly decorated and depicted traditional bridal grandeur.&nbsp;

The billionaire's daughter redefined luxury with her choice of elegant wedding outfits. She proved that less is more. Although Temi Otedola did not rely solely on Nigerian designers for her multi-country wedding, she featured Lisa Folawiyo Studio in her traditional ceremony held in Dubai.

Using signature white fabric from the Delta/Anioma region of Nigeria called "akwa ocha", Lisa Folawiyo made a hand-beaded top and skirt with fringe detailing and coral beading. The design accentuated Temi's model stature perfectly. In honour of Mr Eazi's late mother, the look was a celebration of Nigerian heritage. It showed the world how our culture can be reinvented into luxury.

For such a star-studded wedding that appeared in Vogue shortly after, Lisa Folawiyo’s fashion brand, known for transforming West African culture into couture, has made a deafening fashion statement. Lisa Folawiyo Studio represents the artistry that Nigerian fashion brands are endowed with.

Davido and Chioma finally sealed up their relationship with a white wedding in Miami this year. And Chioma's wedding gown was one of a kind.&nbsp;

The work of art was masterminded by Gbemi Okunola, founder of the Nigerian fashion brand based in the UK, Alonuko Bridal. The brand specialises in bespoke wedding gowns and eveningwear made to complement a variety of skin tones, especially women of African descent.&nbsp;

A major part of Alonuko’s signature is using illusion net and tulle that match the wearer’s skin tone to eliminate the mismatch problem of most African brides who want to go for sheer gowns. Chioma's masterpiece exemplified this. It was an all-over lacework bespoke design. Although the gown was long-sleeved with a high neck collar, it had a form-fitting silhouette tailored to flatter Chioma's figure.&nbsp;
